True Chicago empowers young Black and Brown artists to create their own future through mentorship and access to career development opportunities that both supports them as individuals, as well as creates lasting impact on the health of their community.

We work with companies that value community, and industry leading creatives delivering empowering catalytic programming and educational mentorship for Black and Brown youth in Chicago.

WHY WE DO IT

Systemic barriers in the creative industry such as limited opportunities, underfunded arts education, and hiring biases often sideline talented black and brown voices.

WHO WE DO IT FOR

Students and young professionals, ages 15-25, who are looking for a creative community where they can grow, learn and collaborate. We encourage artists at all stages of their career to engage with the True Chicago community. From developing artists to industry leaders. All are key components to the True Chicago mission.
